Terms of Service

1. The Likya Service

Likya helps users create and review language-learning flashcards from selected words, typed or pasted text, documents, and photographed text. The app may use OCR and AI processing to extract text and generate learning content such as definitions, translations, examples, explanations, and review prompts.

Likya is provided for language-learning support only. It is not a school, official translator, legal advisor, medical advisor, financial advisor, or provider of professional advice.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Likya. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use Likya only with permission from a parent or guardian.

You are responsible for maintaining access to your sign-in provider account, keeping your device secure, and ensuring that information you provide to Likya is accurate. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account or device.

3. User Content

You may submit words, text, images, documents, deck names, notes, and other content to create flashcards and use app features. You keep any rights you have in content you submit, but you grant Likya a limited license to process, store, display, transmit, and use that content as needed to provide, maintain, protect, and improve the app.

You are responsible for the content you submit. Do not submit content unless you have the right to use it and share it with the app for processing.

4. AI and OCR Content

Likya may use OCR and AI systems, including external service providers, to extract text from photos or documents and to generate flashcards, explanations, translations, examples, or related learning material.

AI and OCR output can contain mistakes, omissions, mistranslations, biased wording, or other inaccuracies. You should review generated content before relying on it, especially before using it in academic, professional, travel, legal, medical, or safety-sensitive contexts. Likya does not guarantee that generated content is accurate, complete, suitable for your goals, or appropriate for every situation.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Likya to:

• Violate any law, regulation, third-party right, or applicable platform policy.
• Upload, generate, or share illegal, harmful, abusive, hateful, harassing, exploitative, or sexually explicit content.
• Submit sensitive personal information about another person without permission.
• Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, subscription requirements, rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, scrape, overload, disrupt, or interfere with the app or its infrastructure.
• Use automated systems to access the service in a way that harms or burdens the app.
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person or organization.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Likya may offer premium features, including increased or unlimited AI flashcard conversions, through subscriptions or in-app purchases processed by Google Play Billing. Prices, subscription periods, renewals, cancellations, trials, and refunds are handled according to Google Play's terms and policies.

Subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled through your Google Play account before the renewal deadline shown by Google Play. Deleting the app or deleting your Likya account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. You are responsible for managing or cancelling subscriptions through Google Play.

Likya may use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements and purchase status. Likya does not receive your full payment card details.

7. Privacy

Your use of Likya is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains how information is collected, used, shared, retained, and deleted.

8. Intellectual Property

Likya, including the app, design, branding, software, and service features, is owned by or licensed to Likya and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of Likya or its technology.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Likya grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own language-learning purposes.

9. Changes, Availability, and Usage Limits

Likya may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue features at any time, including AI providers, usage quotas, subscription features, supported file types, and sync functionality. We may also impose or change limits to protect the service, manage costs, prevent abuse, or comply with provider requirements.

We do not guarantee that Likya will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or operating system version.

10. Account Suspension or Termination

You may stop using Likya at any time and may request account deletion through https://likyaapp.com/delete-account. We may suspend or terminate access to Likya if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk for the service or other users, used the app unlawfully, or attempted to abuse or bypass technical controls.

After termination, provisions that by their nature should continue will remain in effect, including limitations of liability, disclaimers, intellectual property terms, payment obligations, and dispute-related provisions.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Likya is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Likya disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability.

We do not guarantee language-learning results. Your results depend on many factors, including your study habits, prior knowledge, consistency, and how you use the app.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Likya and its service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from or related to your use of the app.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Likya's total liability for any claim related to the app will be limited to the amount you paid to Likya for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 25 if you paid nothing.

13. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Likya from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of Likya after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
